Coffee mornings will take place on

10.45 to midday at The Village Hall 
Homemade cake and cafeteria coffee will be served.

Thursday 2nd June 7.00 Platinum Jubilee Supper with live music
1: How to book:
Tickets £5.00 per person. (No charge for children) Please book in advance as we need to know numbers for the catering.

2: What to bring:
2.1:Special Jubilee salmon and leek savoury pies and Coronation chicken will be provided for everyone. Please bring other things to complement the main dish which you could share with your neighbours at the table, like salads, bread, cheeses and pudding if you want it.
2.2: Please provide your own choice of drinks and glasses and bring chairs.
2.3: if you have special dietary requirements, please can you let Jay know?
2.4: It might be cold, so bring something warm to put on later on and maybe bring a rug.

3: What is actually happening?
7.00p.m. Jubilee Supper
8.00p.m. Music and dancing to The Clive Collective
9.30p.m. Village bell will toll to signal the lighting of the Kencot Jubilee beacon
9.45p.m The massed choirs of Kencot Voices, Lechlade Voices and Lechlade Occasional Choir will sing the Jubilee song as the Kencot beacon is lit. (This is happening simultaneously all over the Commonwealth)
They will then sing a few other songs to finish the evening.

4: Want to help?
We would be very glad of some help before during and after the event. Here’s how you can help make our special Kencot event a success.

1: Book your places by buying tickets early and certainly before the 27th May
2: Cook a Jubilee Pie (recipe to follow in a separate email form Jayne and Sue) and bring it to the marquees at 6.00p.m. on Thursday June 2nd.
3: Come to the Malthouse Field on Sunday 29th May  10am to help put up the marquees and decorate the village with bunting.
4: Come to the Malthouse Field at 2.00p.m. on Thursday 2nd June to help set up the tables, and generally prepare for the party.
5: Come to the actual party at 7.00p.m. on 2nd June and help make it go with a swing!
6: Come to the Malthouse Fields on Friday 3rd June at 11.00a.m.to help clear up!
 

Saturday 4th June Drinks on the Green
Meet up with friends and neighbours for a drink together on the Kencot Village Green. 6.30p.m. (Please bring your own drinks)


Kencot Voices need YOU
Kencot Voices are gathering for a series of 6 rehearsals leading up to the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations. We will be meeting on 6 Saturday mornings at 10.30a.m. in the village hall.
We welcome people from Kencot and also outside of Kencot so come and join us! No choir experience necessary and you don’t have to read music. We learn by rote (although music is available for those who want it.)

We will be holding 6 rehearsals in Kencot Village Hall at 10.30 a.m. as follows

Saturday 28th May

 Sunday 5th June, we hope all the singers will all be able to come to Lechlade to sing the songs again in a Community music ocncert being planned as part of Lechlade’s celebrations.
